Tinker Bell and the Great Fairy Rescue Review

Tinker Bell and the Great Fairy Rescue is coming soon onto Blue-ray, DVD and also available in movie download and I highly recommend you purchase it! We had the opportunity to review Tinker Bell and the Great Fairy Rescue and from all the Tinker Bell DVDs, this is by far our families favorite!

Movie synopsis:

Tinker Bell, the world’s favorite fairy, will be spreading her mirth and magic for audiences of all ages, as the worlds of fairies and humans meet for the first time in Tinker Bell and the Great Fairy Rescue.   An all-new, original full-length CG animated  film featuring breathtaking animation, spectacular music and an all-star cast of voice talents debuts September 21st, 2010 on Blu-ray Combo Pack (includes Blu-ray and bonus DVD of the film & movie download).

Before she was ever introduced to Wendy and the Lost Boys, Tinker Bell met Lizzy, a girl with a steadfast belief in fairies. Tinker Bell and the Great Fairy Rescue begins in summertime in the beautiful English countryside. An enchanting encounter unfolds when Tinker Bell is discovered by Lizzy, and as their different worlds unite, Tink develops a special bond with the curious girl in need of a friend.

As her fellow fairies launch a daring rescue, Tinker Bell takes a huge risk, putting her own safety and the future of the fairies in jeopardy. This action-packed adventure takes the fairies of Pixie Hollow on a daring flight to London to save Tinker Bell and all of fairy kind.

Tinker Bell and the Great Fairy Rescue is a beautiful story. We watched it together as a family and we all got something different out of it. Aiyana loved watching Lizzy and Tinker Bell interact as they built a relationship between human and fairy. She became wrapped up in the suspense of the rescue. Aiyana’s emotions transformed from giggles, to sadness and in the end, happiness.

As a parent, I enjoyed Tinker Bell and the Great Fairy Rescue so much that the next day, I asked Aiyana if she wanted to watch it again (so I could watch it with her!) The movie showed me I should open my mind and believe in fairy tales. It was a wonderful reminder to take time to actually listen to our children, to support what they believe in and  to find and show interest in it. Seeing Lizzy’s father so wrapped up in the things that are important to him and disregard Lizzy’s beautiful enticement with fairies because he either did not make the time or care makes me think twice about my own life . I know there are not enough hours in the day. I am guilty of Aiyana wanting to do something while I am busy. Of course “in a little bit” or “later” is the response she gets, but how many times has bedtime come so quickly and “later” turns into “another day”?

Tinker Bell and the Great Fairy Rescue is a hit in our house. Immediately after watching it, Aiyana went to her room to play. When I peaked in at her, she was playing with her Tinker Bell doll. She looked up and me and explained that she was making a movie. And that has been her favorite activity for the past 3 days. I know deep inside she wishes she could be as lucky as Lizzy and have the chance to play with a real fairy. Maybe she believes that one day, it might happen. And that is truly the beauty of believing in a fairytale.

Be sure to pick up a copy when Tinker Bell and the Great Fairy Rescue is released on September 21, 2010.

I received the DVD to review, but all opinions expressed are my own and were in no way persuaded by the PR company or affiliates.

This is a great review. I really want to see this movie. I saw part of it at a friend’s house, but haven’t seen the rest. I’m as bad as the children when it comes to these movies. :-)
