A Little Randomness and A Few Winners…

Raise your hand if you are a little overwhelmed with the holidays?

I know I am not alone.

We host Christmas Eve every year – a night I look forward to, but this year it is taking a toll on me. I am not a procrastinator, but this year, I feel like I am doing everything last minute second.

And that is not the way I roll.

I am a planner, usually I am done Christmas shopping by the beginning of November. So, this last minute scrambling has me a bit stressed out. And by looking at the faces on the people waiting impatiently in store lines, I know I am not alone.

I am trying to let the stress roll off my shoulders by turning up the Christmas tunes and pouring another glass of Eggnog because before I know it, the new year will be here and we will all be complaining that the holidays flew by.

My blogging has slowed down a bit because my nights have been filled with wrapping, reading and drinking hot chocolate with too many huge gushy melted marshmallows.

I am enjoying the extra time with my family. I usually blog at night, when my girls are asleep and it feels good to not be rushing to get them to bed. I am enjoying our extra couple of stories and I am delighted to listen to Aiyana read me my all-time favorite, Dick and Jane.

As I spend more time with my family this holiday season, I will also be refreshing my blogging abilities to bring you bigger and better things for the New Year!

But, first, it is time to announce a few winnners…

Christmas break officially began for us today. We had a southern snow day last week and yesterday was Piper’s make up day. Bring on Christmas!

You don’t worry a bit about us! We will still be here and you should definitely get all the family time you can. I think a lot of people are harried at this time of year anyway. Can’t wait to see what the New Year brings. God bless you and have a Merry Christmas.

I can totally relate to this post. I am usually so on top of my shopping, gift giving, etc, but this year has been so off. Not sure what it is, but I am one of those poor souls in line. At least on the bright side there are pretty good deals right now :) Merry Christmas!

I hear ya on not being done this year. But we didn’t have the cash to finish until tonight. So be it.

It’s nice when we realize that we don’t have to do all the details and traditions EVERY year to enjoy the holidays. I hope you have loads of marshmallows this week. Enjoy and Merry Christmas!

I’m in the same boat–the inbox is now at 500+ emails. But we won’t ever get this time back with the kids. I’m trying to roll with it.

I have been the same way. I feel like I have practically dropped out of the blogging world this past week, but I am enjoying every second! I am fortunately all ready for Christmas, so I’m just busy with my little boy building snowman, drinking hot chocolate, eating Christmas cookies, and cuddling on the couch reading Christmas books. Hope you and your family has a wonderful holiday!

Yeah. I’m down to the wire myself. So glad you’re getting some extra quality time with your kiddos. That’s what matters. Good luck getting the essentials done and enjoy it!

I raised my hand! I am trying to catch up on some reading of posts today. Today I will be baking. Tomorrow too! Everything is winding down and my stress is leaving, hooray. The baking was the last of it. I have enjoyed having my computer off during the day and doing things around the house, then I watch a Christmas movie in the evening. It’s almost here, I can’t wait!

I’ve slowed down a lot too! It’s definitely time for a break and regrouping. Although there is a lot to do and needing to spend time with the children, I’m also taking time to rest. I hope you have a wonderful holiday weekend.

I agree the holidays can be a little overwhelming. For me, I find the hardest part getting back into the every day routine.
