Foto Friday {old}

I am finally joining in on Foto Friday, a weekly photography meme at Mom Tried It. Each week, I have been wanting to participate.  I had ideas in mind for the weekly theme, but finding the time to actually take the pictures is where I had the issues.

This weeks theme is “old”.

I was a little stumped with this weeks theme. I knew I wanted to take a picture of an item – either a personal item or a building because people, well, they might get offended. No one likes to be called old, wise maybe, but not old.

The week passed and I did not get out to capture any of the old buildings, so I was left with a personal item. And I guess it is kind of ironic that it captures a person as well, my husband.

I was not sure how I wanted to capture this, but I have been wanting to do something with it on camera.

Do you have any idea what it is?

I few months ago, I found it in a box of old random things from high school. This box has been tucked deep inside my parents’ closet for at least 15 years.

And the item?

I received it 18 years ago, from my husband. We dated in high school, but split up to reunite 7 years later.

And yes, this post is starting to make me feel old.

So what is it?

Do you remember these little key chain viewfinders from amusement parks? That is what I am holding this my Foto Friday picture, with my very young husband inside. And he will be pleased to know that Aiyana thinks he looks exactly the same.

    WOW! that’s a great picture. At first I thought it was a picture of your husband taken through your wedding band or something. When you showed it was the photo thingy from Six Flags, I was floored! That’s awesome. I just hopped over from Kim’s Mom Tried It. I haven’t figured out what picture to put up for today.

    I have so many old, antique-y things in my house I could have photographed, but went with a flower photo instead. Go figure.

    Love your image — at first I thought it was a ring.

    Thanks for the visit and comment on my blog today. I truly appreciate it! :)

    This is great. You did such a fantastic job! I thought this shot was edited with the man’s image pasted in later. But the fact that you got that picture to turn out is incredible. I am blown away, Michelle. Wow!!
